The Gail Devers Foundation has partnered with the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation. This years’ Walk for Health will emphasize Health and Youth Wellness. The concept for Walk For Health was formed after Devers’ personal battle with Graves Disease, a debilitating chronic Thyroid Disorder. “At first I blamed my condition on the pressures of Olympic training,” says Devers. “It was 2 ˝-3 years before being diagnosed… that was senseless; there wasn’t enough information out there. No one gets anywhere by themselves. Since I cannot knock on every door, I had to design another avenue for getting the word out. You have one body, one life to live and you deserve the best quality of care possible”.
